We have made the difficult decision not to host the Hutchins Forum this summer, in line with Harvard University restrictions that have been in place for in-person gatherings. When we held our storied annual event on Zoom last summer 2020, we saw it as a one-time solution, not one that we would repeat this summer. The in-person exchanges and the glorious Old Whaling Church itself have made the event an institution, and we look forward to returning to Martha’s Vineyard in 2022 when we can be together and do justice to the rich tradition that began in 1997. With our partner, PBS NewsHour, we look forward to reaching you wherever you are—in Edgartown or at home!
