Michael (Mike) Ladd, born in Boston (USA) in 1970 is a Black American poet, lyricist and music creator. He has released over fourteen records with important labels. His collaborative recordings have included artists from Vijay Iyer, Tyshawn Sorey to U-God of Wu-Tang. His collaborations with French groups such as Arat Kilo/Mamani Keita can often be heard on French radio. He has made full soundtracks for a Netflix series, short films and documentaries. He’s created soundscapes for artists Kanishka Raja and Raphaël Barontini notably at Palais de Tokyo and The Panthéon. He’s performed his original work worldwide including The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC), Queen Elizabeth Hall and L’Olympia in Paris. His writing has appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies including Long Shot Review, Bostonia and Aloud: Voices from the Nuyorican Poets Café. Most recently he co-authored a collection of poems *Baldwin in Transit* with Jamika Ajalon and Tamara Walcott.
