David Bindman is Emeritus Durning-Lawrence Professor of the History of Art at University College London. Author of many distinguished works, including Blake as an Artist, Roubiliac and the Eighteenth-Century Monument (winner of the 1996 Mitchell Prize in 1996), he also co-author with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., the series The Image of the Black in Western Art.
