Belinda Edmondson teaches in the Departments of English and African American and African Studies at Rutgers-Newark. She is an elected member of the Johns Hopkins University Society of Scholars, and is the author of several books, most recently Caribbean Middlebrow: Leisure Culture and the Middle Class (Cornell University Press 2009). Her current book project, Creole Noise: Early Caribbean Dialect Literature and Performance, is forthcoming with Oxford University Press.
