Members of the Harvard-Radcliffe Association of African and Afro-American Students (AFRO) Protest a Harvard Graduate School of Design Course
February 2-3, 1969
While AFRO was founded in the early 60’s, after the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4, 1968, African American students quickly mobilized to address their concerns about student life at Harvard as well as how the University framed and taught African American culture and history. In this photo, AFRO member Robert Labret Hall ’69 delivers the group’s criticism of Siegfriend M. Breuning’s course “An End to Urban Violence” in Hunt Hall.
