Leslie F. Griffin, Jr. ’70, president of the Harvard-Radcliffe Association of African and Afro-American Students (AFRO), addressed the crowd of students during a second mass meeting at Harvard Stadium. While many students voted to suspend the strike, AFRO announced that they would continue their strike until the University met their demands for the establishment of an Afro-American Studies Department.
